About the classes

The NordicBarre Method includes two classes: NordicBarre and Nordic Vertical Barre.

Both classes can be practised and taught individually, as each is effective on its own. However, they also complement each other beautifully, offering a well-rounded workout and a deeper connection with your body.

In today’s world, where the focus is often on external appearance, we have lost the art of truly understanding and listening to our bodies. The NordicBarre Method helps to bridge that gap by focusing not only on how your body looks but also on how your workout makes you feel.

While all classes from The NordicBarre Method will sculpt your body, helping you achieve strong, toned muscles and improved posture, that’s not their sole purpose. What we are most proud of with both NordicBarre and Nordic Vertical Barre is that we’ve created something that merges energy, flow, and challenging combinations in a way that everyone can follow and benefit from.

All our classes place a strong emphasis on music. Our playlists are carefully chosen to fit each class, so you can let go and follow the rhythm and movements. Like pairing food with wine, combining the right music with the right exercises brings everything together, creating a complete and enjoyable experience.

Whether you’re a professional fitness trainer or someone who is just starting your workout journey, both can participate in the same exercises, equally gaining something valuable and feeling accomplished.

At The NordicBarre Method we want you to feel joy and happiness in a  safe and non judgmental workout environment, becoming stronger, and growing more confident. There’s a place for everyone in our classes, regardless of experience or fitness level. Join us and try a barre class like no other, where every participant can thrive and enjoy the journey together!

NordicBarre

NordicBarre is our unique horizontal barre class, blending techniques from ballet, fitness, and aerobics. It is designed to be fast-paced, energetic, and incredibly fun. We only use our own body weight and a light hand weight. Though if you are already a master of the techniques you can always add wrist and ankle weights to make the exercises more challenging.

This dynamic workout is divided into three sections:

  • Arms, where we challenge your coordination skills by incorporating light leg work while toning and strengthening the arms and back.

  • Legs, where we focus on strengthening the legs, glutes, and core. Here, we pick up the pace a little to get your heart pumping and the sweat flowing.

  • Finally, we move on to Cardio. Unlike traditional cardio sessions, this one is fun and often the highlight of the class. We combine movements from aerobics and dance into a 4-5 minute dance workout, guaranteed to put a smile on your face—and leave you catching your breath afterwards.

The entire class is performed standing at the barre or in the centre of the room, making it accessible for almost everyone, as there’s no need to move up and down from the floor.

Each session is set to carefully selected music, with dedicated playlists that allow you to move to the beat and connect with the songs in your own way.

NordicBarre combines rapid movement transitions, complex coordination work, and challenging exercises, ensuring a dynamic and engaging workout experience.

Nordic Vertical Barre

Nordic Vertical Barre is our original and innovative approach to a barre workout and a conditioning class suited for both pole dancers as well as anyone looking to improve their fitness and overall strength, combining techniques from ballet, fitness, and pole dance. In this class, we utilise a vertical barre—also known as the pole—for support, along with resistance bands for both arms and legs. This enhances isometric muscle engagement and promotes a better understanding of the techniques involved, allowing you to see and feel the results much faster. The pole serves not only as support but also as a tool to elevate your posture, engaging the shoulders and back more than in any other barre class.

The workout is divided into five sections:

  • Arms, where we challenge your coordination by incorporating light leg work while toning and strengthening the arms and back using a open-ended resistance band.

  • Legs, where we use a booty band to strengthen the legs and glutes while building endurance.

  • In the Obliques section, we work on the pole with the open-ended resistance band to add tension while lengthening and twisting the body in various diagonal positions, as well as performing mat work, focusing on combinations of side planks.

  • Abs, where we use the pole for support while lying on the floor, performing exercises to strengthen the entire core.

  • And last but not least, Cardio, where we incorporate different pull-up techniques to keep the back engaged, while adding fun movements from dance and pole dance.

This is essentially a highly comprehensive class, providing a deep, full-body workout to a pre-set playlist that gives the class a unique flow and energy you won't find anywhere else.

This structured approach ensures that you experience a transformative workout, helping you to feel and look stronger and more aligned in a short time.

Many people feel intimidated when they see the pole, thinking it’s only for the extremely strong. This is the class that will get you there!

You don’t need any prior pole experience or even the desire to become a pole dancer. This is a barre class for everyone, designed to help you become physically strong for pole or for life. Plus, it’s incredibly fun!
